Ans.1. Laproscopy uses 3-4 holes varying from (1cm to 0.5 cm) whereas the single hole technique uses one button hole of 2-3 cm only.

Ans.3. SVH is the only center for single hole removal of uterus, gall bladder, appendix, hernias, ectropic pregnancy. The technique of single hole surgery was developed by SVH way back in 1992 by Dr. Ajay and Dr. Divya Prakash. Since then they have performed more than 25,000 single hole surgerys.

Q5. Does this technique of single hole need crealuor of Pneumoperitoneum?
Ans.5. No single hole technique is a gas less technique requiring no Pneumoperitoneum. Thus complications of Pneumoperitoneum - cardio - respiralogy depression and CO2 empolism are avoided.
Q6. After single hole cholecystectory how long does it take for the patient to resume his routine work?
Ans.6. We start the patient orally within 4 hours of surgery. Patient is discharged within 24 hours of operation. Patient is fit to resume hiis duties within 3-4 days of operation. Heavy strenous work like lifting loads, extensive gym is to be avoided for next 3 months.
Q7. After how long the patient can take regular diet?
Ans.7. We advocate regular diet after 24 hours of operation once patient passes stool and wind. Liquid diet and semi solid diet is started within 4 hours of operation.
Q8. How many sutures are put?
Ans.8. Single hole surgery uses no superficial sutures and it is scarless.
Q9. After how long sutures are to be removed?
Ans.9. All sutures used are absorbable which disolve after 1 week automatically. So no need to remove the sutures. |
